Getting started
Two-factor login
Protect your account with a 6-digit code from an authenticator app. It is required before you connect a real broker account.
Why it is required
Your account can place orders in your real broker accounts, so a password alone is not enough. Before you can connect a real broker account (or do its daily broker login), turn on two-factor login. Paper accounts work without it.
Turn it on
- Install an authenticator app on your phone: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy or 1Password all work.
- Open Settings → Security and confirm your password.
- Scan the QR code with the app, or type the key shown under it.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and press Turn on.
- Save the 8 recovery codes somewhere safe (a password manager or a printed copy). They are shown only once.
Signing in
After your email and password, enter the current 6-digit code from the app. Each code works once and changes every 30 seconds. If codes are refused, make sure your phone's date and time are set automatically.
Lost your phone?
On the code screen choose Use a recovery code. Each recovery code works once. Once you are in, go to Settings → Security and create new codes, or turn two-factor login off and set it up again on your new phone.
If you have no recovery codes left, contact support. After we confirm who you are, an administrator can turn two-factor login off so you can sign in and set it up again.
Turning it off
Settings → Security → Turn off needs your password and a current code. Your connected broker accounts stay connected, but you cannot connect new ones or do the daily broker login until it is on again.
