Getting started

Connect an Upstox account

Link an Upstox account with your own Upstox API app and log in on Upstox once a day.

What you need

  • An Upstox trading account and an API app (account.upstox.com/developer/apps) — its API key and API secret.
  • Set the app's redirect URL to the address shown in Connect.
  • A plan that includes live accounts (see Billing).

Connect

  1. Accounts → Add account → Upstox, give it a name.
  2. Click Connect, copy the redirect URL into your Upstox app, then enter the API key and API secret and save.

Log in each day

Click Log in to Upstox and sign in on Upstox's page. Upstox sessions end at 3:30 AM IST, so log in each trading morning. Each login carries a one-time security code that must match when you return.

Updates and balance

Fills, rejections and cancellations arrive live from Upstox. The dashboard shows Upstox's available and used margin.

Static IP and exchange rules (since 1 April 2026)

SEBI's retail algo framework applies to every order sent through a broker API, including orders sent through TradeBridge.

  • Static IP. Upstox accepts order placement, modification and cancellation only from the static IP address registered in your Upstox developer app (My Apps: one active trading app per user; primary and optional secondary IP). Requests from any other address are rejected. Reading data (balance, order book, positions, prices) works from any address.
  • 10 orders a second. Up to 10 orders a second need no separate exchange registration. TradeBridge never sends faster than that per account.
  • Market protection. Market and SL-M orders are sent with automatic market protection (market_protection = -1). Orders use Upstox's V3 order APIs.
  • Your responsibility. Registering the IP, and staying within the broker's terms for API and third-party use, is between you and Upstox. If you are unsure whether your setup is allowed, ask Upstox's API support before trading.
